Faith, hope and charity
Our mission for God is based on the theological virtues of faith, hope and charity:
Faith enables a person to believe in God and accept the truths He has revealed. In the mission of the Church, this means a duty to evangelise and spread the word of God so that others can come to know Him.
Hope instills the firm trust that God will provide eternal happiness and the means to attain it. This virtue allows the Church to face the world’s challenges with resilience and inspires its work for justice.
Charity, also known as love, is the greatest of the three virtues. It is the force that moves Catholics to love God above all things and to love their neighbour for God’s sake. Charity is the driving force behind the Catholic Church’s charitable works, from providing education and medical care to advocating for the poor.
