What is the Family of Parishes?
The Diocese of Down and Connor is organised into Families of Parishes, to meet the challenges and opportunities facing clergy and parishioners, under the Pathways to the Future programme launched in 2019. This initiative groups individual parishes into larger clusters, enabling more collaborative ministry and resource sharing within the diocese.
Purpose of the Family of Parishes
- Address challenges: to better meet the demands and challenges of serving a diverse and changing community with fewer priests
- Foster collaboration: to encourage shared resources, shared ministry and collaborative pastoral work among parishes
- Enable renewal: to support the ongoing spiritual growth and renewal within the diocese
